I rarely miss starting my day in prayer with my husband; I read Verticle each day as it is spoon fed to me (via, email), and participate in studies with our Life Group, and Church of course. But when do I initiate any kind of a deep study into God's word, unless I am in dire need of a Band aid in my personal life?? You have really hit the nail on the head Lori! Please pray for me as well, that I can really start seeking after Him.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15289233177253953324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2728529107227443092.post-4351832619480878572010-04-14T21:14:52.009-07:002010-04-14T21:14:52.009-07:00ho hum. who can't identify with this.
as long...ho hum. who can't identify with this.

as long as we are using the 'self-feeding' analogy.
as adults we are responsible to feed ourselves healthily. sometimes when we eat alone we eat wisely, sometimes we don't. sometimes it is just helpful, inspiring, and enjoyable to enjoy a meal with family and friends. but when it comes down to it, we are responsible for ourselves.Gabriellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11971909407179388050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2728529107227443092.post-28162529232770038382010-04-14T19:19:13.925-07:002010-04-14T19:19:13.925-07:00I completely relate to what you are saying... ther...I completely relate to what you are saying... there are seasons in my life where I feel like, "man, I'm motivated and getting it done"... then there are phases where I'm just trying to keep my head above water. I love the picture of Jesus just waiting, arms open wide, for us to come spend time with Him... need to picture that one more often!!

Lori, I love your heart and most of all your authenticity-- you are keeping it real sister... God can, will and has used "real"- no matter where it is!Molly Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14119534879206546434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2728529107227443092.post-15369435915924542542010-04-14T18:49:10.108-07:002010-04-14T18:49:10.108-07:00I think we are all guilty of this shortcoming in o...I think we are all guilty of this shortcoming in one way or another. I know with you for example, you make yourself available to everyone any time. This is one of the things that makes you so special. That being said, I think it is only fair that you take care of you for a change! Schedule your time with Him first. Thanks for venting online and sharing your thoughts... it is an eye opener/reminder for all.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2728529107227443092.post-90622536621714280252010-04-14T18:21:13.979-07:002010-04-14T18:21:13.979-07:00Honestly, honesty is so freeing, is it not? It challenges us to really think honestly about our engagement with God.
We all have to be SERIOUS about our faith, if not, what are we saying about what we believe? Are we just saying Christ is a great key chain ornament or pocket guide or maybe a great app on our iphones???

Seriously, we all have to be serious about how we engage God. He tells us in his word how he desires to be worshipped, how much he desire our time and how much HE JUST DESIRES US...

Great post, Lori. Thank you for being honestly honest...you are such an encouragment and a true follower of Christ!drainwaterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07264611312365774562noreply@blogger.com
